Meeting of the Foreign Minister of Armenia at the Norwegian Parliament
07 February, 2025On February 7 Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with members of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Norway (Storting), representing various political parties.
The meeting touched upon the active dynamics in the development of bilateral relations of Armenia with the Nordic-Baltic group countries, including Norway, as well as international and regional issues.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that despite the geographical distance, Armenia and Norway share important commonalities, including the humanitarian work and legacy of Fridtjof Nansen, as well as a strong commitment to democratic principles.
The Foreign Minister highly valued the established political dialogue between Armenia and Norway and the clear stance of Norway on issues of importance to Armenia, particularly regarding the protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The interlocutors also touched upon the process and prospects for deepening the Armenia-EU partnership.
Foreign Minister of Armenia presented the latest developments in the South Caucasus, vision of Armenia on normalization of relations with its neighbors, and the effective unblocking of regional communications. In this context, “Crossroads of Peace” initiative developed by the Government of Armenia was touched upon.
